Lanky, freckle-faced, unassuming and a spitting image of how you would envision Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer" character if he came alive, juvenile actor Mitch Vogel was one of Hollywood's top performers during the late 1960s and early 1970s. His career fell away, however, by the following decade and has been little seen.
Born January 17, 1956 in the Los Angeles area, Mitch somehow must have made a youthful impression with his very first film at age 12 with the popular comedy Yours, Mine and Ours (1968) as one of Lucille Ball's brood, for the very next year he reached the zenith of his film career with The Reivers (1969). He played the role of Lucius in the film adaptation of the William Faulkner coming-of-age novel. The film won both Mitch and star Steve McQueen Golden Globe nominations.
Following this success, Mitch became a popular face on TV and in 1970 joined the by-now classic western series Bonanza (1959), enjoying a two-year stint on the show playing the character of Jamie Hunter (later Cartwright), an orphan taken in by the Cartwright men and later adopted. In casting Mitch as Jamie, producers felt that the western needed a face lift as Michael Landon, at age 34, was a bit long in the tooth to be receiving fatherly guidance by patriarch Ben. The series ended in 1973. Mitch forged a friendship with Landon during that time and went on to appear in a few of Landon's Little House on the Prairie (1974) episodes.
Disney also took an interest in the fair, wholesome-looking lad with the vital homespun appeal. Mitch appeared impressively for them in lead roles with Menace on the Mountain (1970) and The Boy from Dead Man's Bayou (1971) [aka Bayou Boy]. He continued to be seen outdoors as well with episodes of Here Come the Brides (1968), Gunsmoke (1955) and others.
By the time he reached adulthood, 22-year-old Mitch made the decision to forge a life away from the limelight. Audiences saw him last co-starring with Patrick Wayne in the backwoods action movie Texas Detour (1978). These days, he still lives in the Southern California area, is married with two daughters, and continues to spark his interests by directing and appearing in church plays and singing in a rock band. He also attends occasional "Bonanza" conventions and other related events.- Cinematographer

Multiple award-winning cinematographer Dean Cundey, ASC, CSC who was nominated for an Oscar for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and took home the BAFTA for the same film, has a career spanning decades with awards and nominations including a Primetime Emmy (2023 "The Mandalorian") a Daytime Emmy (2001 "The Face: Jesus in Art"), a Chicago Film Critics Association award ("Apollo 13"), to American Society of Cinematographers awards ("Apollo 13," "Hook"). His prolific career also includes a Lifetime Achievement Award from the ASC and a President's Award from the SOC, and he's still not done shooting. Born in Alhambra, California, Cundey spent his childhood building miniature sets and reading "American Cinematographer." Following graduation from UCLA film school, where he was taught by James Wong Howe, ASC, Cundey's first job on set was as a makeup artist on Roger Corman's "Gas!" or "It Became Necessary to Destroy the World in Order to Save It." Cundey's first assignment as a director of photography was on the revenge film "The No Mercy Man." He continued with other horror and exploitation movies, then began a collaboration with director John Carpenter on five films for which he received accolades: "Halloween," "The Fog," "Escape from New York," "The Thing" and "Big Trouble in Little China." Cundey transitioned into a collaboration with Robert Zemeckis on impressive features such as "Romancing the Stone," all three "Back to the Future" films, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "Death Becomes Her." Not content to settle for that, he also dabbled in directing with his debut on "Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves" and was also the second-unit director on "Deep Rising" and "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties." .- Brassy'n'beautiful blonde Roberta Collins was a terrific, dynamic and scene-stealing delight who greatly enlivened a bunch of choice down'n'dirty 1970s drive-in exploitation pictures with her earthy good humor, boundless vitality, superior acting ability, strong, forceful personality and smoldering sex appeal. Born on November 17, 1944, the tall, leggy, shapely and radiant Roberta first began acting in the late 1960s. Collins made a smashing impression as Alcott, a fiery'n'feisty prison inmate in Jack Hill's chicks-in-chains classic The Big Doll House (1971). Roberta was likewise fantastic as Belle, a bawdy, jovial, kittenish prison inmate in Jonathan Demme's marvelous tongue-in-cheek gem Caged Heat (1974) and hilarious as champion race car driver Matilda the Hun in the uproariously tasteless sci-fi black comedy hoot Death Race 2000 (1975). Other noteworthy parts include one of Claudia Jennings' bitter rivals in The Unholy Rollers (1972), Jean Harlow in the odd Train Ride to Hollywood (1975), Jim Brown's secretary in the outrageous blaxploitation riot Three the Hard Way (1974), a forlorn wayward prostitute in Tobe Hooper's excellent Eaten Alive (1976), a klutzy student driver in the hugely enjoyable car chase romp Speedtrap (1977), and a neurotic egocentric actress in Matt Cimber's outstanding The Witch Who Came from the Sea (1976). Alas, Roberta Collins' career ran out of gas and came to an unfortunate close in the 1980s, as such latter lesser credits as Hardbodies (1984), School Spirit (1985), and Hardbodies 2 (1986) all sadly confirm. However, Collins did contribute a typically fine and impressive turn as a tough prison security chief in the gritty babes-behind-bars revenge item Vendetta (1986). She also did guest spots on the TV shows The Rockford Files (1974), Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1974), Cade's County (1971), and Adam-12 (1968). Roberta Collins died at age 63 from an accidental overdose of drugs and alcohol on August 16, 2008.
